Abstract

A fast discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain downsampling technique for video transcoder was proposed. The PSNR values obtained after downsampling a gray-level image using the spatial domain approach with the bilinear interpolation were presented. The results indicated that the proposed method is computationally efficient and gives significant improvements in PSNR.
