A model of GUI for interactive TV

Abstract

The digital TV era is just ahead of us. Digital TV will provide quality audio and video. Fortunately digital signal processing technologies have been fully developed. Digital TV will also give us interactivity. Users have experienced interactivity through Internet and they expect that the same interactivity can be experienced in the digital TV programs. Interactive TV can transform the dumb TV that is one-way into a smart TV that will be bidirectional. However, nobody has ever experienced bidirectional TV programs. Therefore, the implementation of bidirectional programs is not easy. For this a GUI for the interative programs is illustrated.
