All-optical switching in fiber-coupled photonic crystal resonator

Abstract

All-optical switching is demonstrated in a photonic crystal resonator evanescently coupled with a micro-fiber. Carrier-induced fast blueshift of resonant wavelength by 1.5 nm is observed at 980 nm pump energy of ~300 fJ.
