Abstract

In this paper, we present an approach for semantic enrichment process that includes concept identifications and content mappings in a legacy database. Our approach is based on sufficient principles of meta data codes that are visualized on well-established semantic relationships among concepts and their contents in the domain value set. Data fields are classified in functional categories that are extracted from the schematic information and content statistics. Concepts of data codes and their semantic abstractions extracted on the basis of functional categories are used to expand the meaning of data code set. Finally, the data code concepts in the semantic repository are classified into several concept hierarchies, which facilitate the semantic enrichment for semantic integration.
