Abstract

The Shewanella oneidenis cytochrome c proteins were characterized. Reversed phase liquid chromatography, electrospray ionization and Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance tandem mass spectrometry were used for the purpose of analysis. Results show that outer membrane vesicles contain approximately 50 proteins. It was also found that the majority of peptides identified did not contain c-type hemes.
