Abstract

Heterojunction light-emitting diodes based on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT)-PBD nanocomposite were characterized and fabricated. The effects of nanotubes on the charge carrier transport and device performances were observed. Studies of luminescence and device characteristics demonstrated that as the fraction of SWCNTs in the PBD medium increased in the range of 0-1.0 wt% the device performances, such as external quantum efficiency (EQE) improved by a factor of 3 to 4 due to the efficient electron transport through highly conductive nanotubes.
