Data compression techniques for time codes in karaoke

Abstract

This paper presents efficient methods to compress time code aimed at Karaoke application by utilizing the linguistic and musical characteristic of Karaoke. In particular, we propose a novel codeword rule for the beat of music. Experimental results show that our proposed methods drastically reduce time code.
