Design optimization of planar-type write head for high density magnetic recording

Abstract

The design optimization of planar-type write head for high density magnetic recording was presented. A planar-type head enabled to generate higher write field with respect to the conventional head. The results showed that the recorded bit pattern was greatly improved by using the optimized planar-type write head.
