Development of PC/ABS/NCF composite for a lightweight car audio chassis

Abstract

In this paper, polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (PC/ABS) based composite with nickel-coated carbon fibers (NCF) was developed and the application of the composite for a light-weight car audio chassis was studied. The mechanical and electrical properties of the composite were evaluated through various physical tests. In addition, two required key tests, i.e. full scale EMI SE test and vibration analysis, were conducted to confirm the applicability of PC/ABS with NCF composite as the material of car audio chassis.
