Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) scheme based on the block matching technique using the bit-plane images. The proposed motion estimation process can be implemented using only binary Boolean functions which have significantly reduced computational complexity. We compared the proposed algorithm with existing algorithms using RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) on the basis of the full-search block matching method. Simulation results show that the proposed motion estimation algorithm outperforms conventional fast algorithms.
