Abstract

The authors request correction of this article, upon realizing that tubulin bands in Figure 7B were duplicated from 3A. We located the first author’s lab notebook page that includes Figure 7A and an immunoblot similar to Figure 7B showing PIL5 proteins are expressed similarly in PIL5-OX and PIL5-OX som lines. However, the immunoblot was not identical to Figure 7B and we could not locate the exact source data for Figure 7B. We therefore repeated experiments with the PIL5-OX som line #12 that is still kept in the lab. We found that a red light pulse induces germination in the PIL5-OX som but not in the PIL5-OX line, as originally reported in Figure 7A. We also found that PIL5 proteins are expressed similarly in the PIL5-OX and the PIL5-OX som, which is consistent with the immunoblot data in the lab notebook and was originally intended to be reported in Figure 7B. These errors are highlighted in the original Figures 3 and 7 reproduced below and the new data shown below in Figure 7 (corrected). The original findings and conclusions are unaffected by the errors reported here. All authors are in agreement with this correction. Note: The corrected figures and accompanying text were reviewed by members of The Plant Cell editorial board. The authors are responsible for providing a complete listing and accurate explanations for all known errors or instances of inappropriate data handling or image manipulation associated with the original publication.
