Abstract
Since ultra-high-performance fiber reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) features an excellent structural performance with high strength and ductility, an assessment of local buckling in thin-walled UHPFRC members is required to prevent possible buckling failures. In this study, the local buckling behavior of UHPFRC flanges was evaluated based on experimental tests and nonlinear FE analysis. It was concluded that the local buckling behavior of UHPFRC flanges with brittle failure modes may occur within the current design ranges. A modified moment calculation procedure considering the local buckling was proposed to achieve a ductile design of the thin-walled UHPFRC girders.
