Far-and near-field imaging of whispering gallery modes in elliptically deformed microdisk lasers

Abstract

We investigate the far-and near-fields of elliptically deformed InGaAsP-InP microdisks with the major axis of 7.6 p.m and a aspect ratio of 0.78. We also propose that ∼ 2 μm sized elliptically deformed microdisks have strong emission directionality through three-dimensional FDTD simulations.
