Abstract
The material properties and fatigue life of a metal can be affected by pre-strain, residual stress, and bending owing to the metal formation process. Therefore, it is important to understand the influence of factors that affect fatigue life. In this research, fatigue tests are conducted using simulated specimens to investigate the effect of the formation on the fatigue life evaluation of an automobile wheel. To evaluate the fatigue test results, the equivalent structural stress method considering bending residual stress is proposed. Then, the proposed equivalent structural stress method is verified by constructing a Master S-N curve.
