Heterogeneous nucleation behaviors in the fractional melted Sn-Bi powders

Abstract

The nucleation behaviors in the fractional melted Sn-B powders were observed from the droplet emulsion technique (DET). The shape factor for Sn-B alloy, which is often assumed to be independent of alloy composition in the classical nucleation theory, was found to decreased as the composition of Bi increases.
