N2 - In this paper, we describe the high-level error control mechanism that can be used for realtime multimedia transport protocol. The majority of conventional multimedia transport protocols use only a basic error recovery mechanism such as selective retransmission or Go-Back-N. They do not consider, however, the integrated viewpoint of multimedia data. The designed error control mechanism uses low-level error recovery mechanism on its base error recovery procedure. Furthermore, it also support a new high-level error recovery mechanism through the integration of each media into a multimedia. Viewing each media error in the viewpoint of multimedia makes multimedia oriented high-level error control mechanism can be provided to the user with easy.
