Abstract
We demonstrate white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) by exciplex formation at organic solid-state interface between a charge transport layer and an emitting layer. White OLEDs have complementary emitters with an emission peak of 400 nm around the near-ultraviolet, and an emission peak of 580 producing a yellow color. The EL spectra of the white OLEDs have shown a covering through visual range from 400 to 780 nm. The CIE coordinate of the emitted light was (0.34, 0.34) with low driving current density (8.6 mA/cm2) and high efficiency (12 cd/A, 2 lm/W) at 1 000 cd/m2.
