Abstract
This paper presents a method to estimate the parameters in a dynamic load model with ZIP and induction motor portions. The method adopts a hybrid optimization with particle swarm optimization (PSO) and downhill simplex method to find an adequate parameter set best-fitting the sampled data from the local measurement by minimizing the square deviation. The additional application of the simplex method further searches out better solutions locally using the selected particles from the PSO procedure.
