Increase of switching field from a word line by design optimization

Abstract

A soft magnetic keeper layer was introduced to a word line, and an effort was made to optimize the shape of the word line. The effect of the field distribution on the switching characteristics of the free layer was also discussed. Studies showed that the switching field increased significantly on the introduction of the keeper layer.
