Induction of Embryoid Body formation using a concave PDMS mold

Abstract

Embryoid Body (EB) is aggregates of embryonic stem cells and differentiation of embryonic stem cells into specific cells for regenerative medicine is often initiated by EB formation. Recent study reported that EB size is important factors both in improving the reproducibility of differentiation and in regulating endogenously influenced cell type-specific differentiation [1]. This paper propose the method to form the uniform sized EBs maintaining their pluripotency using concave microwells.
