Abstract
Heart rate variability analysis is autonomic nervous system function, clinical tool for assessing cardiac and fast emerging as a non-invasive research. In this paper describes a method of Investigating Cardiac Activity based on Smart device Camera. We assessed the possibility of using the pulse rate extracted from the blood volume pulse signal as an alternative measurement of the heart rate variability signal. Further, to demonstrate the feasibility of HRV extraction and accuracy from blood pressure signal, smart device PPG and standard lead II ECG signals were simultaneously. A comparative analysis of frequency domain and time domain measures of blood volume pulse variability was carried out. These results suggest that PRV based on smart device camera could be used as a surrogate of heart rate variability for the purpose of non-medical applications such as mental load assessment, and emotion recognition by consumer electronics.
