Abstract
Microstructure and microwave dielectric properties of (1-x)NdGaO 3 -xCaTiO 3 ceramics have been investigated. For specimens with x ≤ 0.5, a Nd 3 Ga 5 O 12 phase was observed. A liquid phase was found in the specimens with x≥0.5, containing a high concentration of Ca and Ga ions. The dielectric constant ( εr ) and the temperature coefficient of the resonant frequency ( τ f ) of the specimens increased with an increase of x. The Q×f value of the NdGaO 3 ceramics was about 85,000 GHz, and decreased inversely with x. Excellent microwave dielectric properties of Q×f=46,000 GHz, εr =45 and τf =-2 ppm/C were obtained for 0.35NdGaO 3 -0.65CaTiO 3 ceramics.
