Molybdenium mediated preparation of cyclopentenones

Abstract

Cocyclization of alkynes, alkenes and carbon monoxide was achieved in the presence of a stoichiometric amount of molybdenium hexacarbonyl and excess of dimethylsulfoxide. This process will constitute another version of Pauson-Khand reaction.
