Abstract

The morphological characteristics of penicillate cells in the genus Phyllactinia have been poorly studied. Careful microscopic examinations revealed that their morphological features are fairly consistent in particular species and sufficiently different from each other to be used for species delimitation in combination with other characters of taxonomic value.
