Abstract

The fabrication of multifunctional transducers using piezoelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films and poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/ poly (4-styrenesulfonate) [PEDOT/PSS] was analyzed. It was found that the multifunctional transducers could be fabricated in a stable manner at a high frequency and a high electric field due to the conductivity of PEDOT/PSS electrode. The direct piezoelectric effect and pyroelectric effect were observed for both monomorph and bimorph devices. It was concluded that the PVDF films could be used either in multifunctional transducers or in an energy harvest system.
