Abstract

The application of nanofabrication in the designing of artificial materials with optical properties was discussed. The nanofabrication of optical devices and structures for biophotonics and photonics was analyzed. A sensitive photonic biosensor based on the use of disc resonators and techniques for the specific binding of a particular substance onto the surface of the disc resonator were also experimented.
