Abstract

The formation of space charge in PE/EV A laminates has been investigated. In the laminates, the charge is formed predominantly at the interface. Heterocharge is found in the blends which decreases as the EV A content increases. The internal field is highly distorted in the laminates due to the accumulation of charge at the interface, whereas a relatively uniform field distribution was observed in the blends. The observation for the blends is explained using the results obtained with the laminates.
