Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) A buckyball sandwich: The depicted reaction produces cis-1 and cis-2 (see picture), in which the fullerene is sandwiched between two different clusters. Variable-temperature 1H NMR spectra reveal that cis-1 and cis-2 are interconvertible and cis-2 exists as two isomers.
