Abstract

An error spreading method was proposed for the motion pictures experts group-4 (MPEG-4) streaming service over the internet. The deterioration of the video quality was reduced by spreading the encoded data losses. The proposed scheme provided lower frame dependency and shorter burst loss lengths. It was also found to be effective for use in non-interactive video applications such as videocasting and video-based entertainment services.
