Point optimization by generating phase ramps on a spatial light modulator

Abstract

Light wave is distorted into a speckle pattern when it propagates through disordered media such as biological tissues and random nanoparticles. Here, we report the optimization of light intensity at a point located at the far side of a disordered medium, which we call a point optimization, by means of wavefront shaping of the incident wave. In this presentation, we propose a method of generating phase ramps on the spatial light modulator (SLM) to find optimal input wavefront. This improves the efficiency of point optimization over the existing pixel-by-pixel control method.
