Abstract

In this paper, in order to analyze the characteristics of photovoltaic and wind power ramps in South Korea, we analyzed a ramp using 1 hour power generation data to form the basis of backup installed capacity and reserve calculation. In order to find the distribution characteristics of ramps in each region, we first performed basic statistical analysis on ramps, and tested the normality of the ramps in the nine regions of South Korea. For non-normal distributions, we identified the appropriate distribution among 14 distributions based on p-values and statistical values of Anderson-Darling test and likelihood ratio test (LRT).
