Abstract
A network-based mobile robot designed with the goal of remote control and surveillance via Internet using wireless local area network (WLAN) is presented. The remote application acts as the client software, whereas the application software in the mobile robot becomes a server. A remote user can control the movement of the proposed mobile robot with the pan-tilt camera and the robot arm, and observe images transmitted from the robot via the Internet using WLAN.
