Abstract
The structure of an oligoether-appended β-diketonato strontium complex in both solution and solid state was studied. It was reported that the complex exists as [SrL2]2 (1) [L= 1-(2-methoxyethoxy)-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate] in solution and liquid state. The structure of 1 in CDCl3 was examined by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. It was shown that both 1H and 13CNMR spectra of 1 were indistinguishable from what would be expected from a 1:1 complex between the strontium ion and the ligand. A crystal sample was obtained by standing a solution of 1 in methanol/water, co-solvent at -5°C.
