SVC-aware retransmission scheme in multi-gigabit wireless local area networks

Abstract

In this paper, we present a scalable video coding (SVC)-aware retransmission scheme in multi-gigabit wireless local area networks. The proposed scheme applies different retransmission policies for base and enhancement layers to minimize the transmission latency while mitigating unnecessary retransmissions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional retransmission schemes.
