Abstract
A simple yet powerful set of synthetic parameters is identified, leading to concave structures of Pt-based nanoparticles, pursuant to the current demand in high-surface-area nanostructures for catalytic applications. Specifically, the formation of Pt concave nanocubes and Mn-doped Pt concave octahedra is demonstrated from their respective nonconcave structures.
