Abstract

We present a design system for SSDs that utilizes a genetic algorithm. To maximize the performance in a specific system with a workload trace, the technique efficiently determines customized architectural parameters for the SSD. Compared to general SSDs, our proposed scheme reduces the average response time by up to 30%.
